Griffith Observatory Los Angeles CA

Griffith Observatory

What a view this place has of all of Los Angeles. Griffith Observatory opened in 1935 and millions of people have gone there to check out the views as well as the telescopes. From one side you can even take in the famous Hollywood sign. I haven’t been there at night but I am sure it is amazing!

It was the perfect back drop for the filming of the romantic movie La La Land with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. Also the film Rebel without a Cause starring James Dean had two major scenes in the movie in 1955. The Observatory has also appeared in many other movies. Also it has made an appearance in many TV shows. Moonlighting, Melrose Place, Star Trek, 90210, The Simpsons, Top Chef as many others.

As you arrive, you wait at the bottom of a hill for a bus to take you up to the mountain. Admission is free.
