There is nothing more comforting then a fresh, hot out of the oven, mile high homemade buttery biscuit in the morning for breakfast. Tara’s mile high biscuits are all that and more. This is a tried and true recipe for no fail biscuits. Made from scratch with a whole stick of butter, these are not for the faint at heart. These are light, flaky and can be as high as you want to be. Don’t forget, they will rise even higher then what they appear. My secret trick is….shhhhhh, to put the tray of biscuits in the freezer for a few minutes if your freezer allows the room. Then you place them into a piping hot oven to bake. THAT is the trick that makes the pastry flaky. Of course, it also has to do with all that yummy butter in there as well.

Options to serve your biscuits with would be more butter of course! Or, you could choose to top it off with a homemade delicious marmalade of some kind. There are so many options!!!!! If you like savory, then homemade good ol’ country gravy would be your choice. If you like sweet and prefer it to be more of a dessert, you may choose jam or marmalade or my favorite which is more butter and some local honey. You could have biscuits and tea, or fry up some eggs, bacon or sausage with a side order of grits if you are from the south. More gravy on those grits please with some crispy hash browns. Yum!

Biscuits don’t have to be just for breakfast by the way. Lots of people eat breakfast food for dinner at times. Whatever tickles your fancy, go for it! Just make sure that you grab this recipe on the way out of your house if there ever is a fire! Your family will thank you later that you saved it. Go try out Tara’s mile high biscuits!
